Nickyb's blogger...

Thanks for dropping by, this blogger is about my up's and down's, tear's and laughter that my interests can bring as I go about them in my own fashion..

This Blogger started through my fishing, and I enjoyed many a happy day enjoying everything that comes along with that, but times change, job changes, and wanting to do different things was to see the fishing gear making way for Motorcycles, and that is how you find me...
Hope you enjoy the Blog.

Nick.

All the best

It was just too nice to refuse a ride out this morning.
The bike fired into life, and sat there thumping away while I got ready, no idea where to go, but just thought, why not.
Soon found myself heading out of town, after a quick fuel stop, A30 towards Hook, then out via Odiham to Alton, out on some of the nicest biking roads around, down to West Meon Hut, the café looked very busy, so I took a right, out along heading back Winchester way.
Sitting at one of the roundabouts, a guy in a rather nice Land Rover, asked if I could rev the motor for his kids to hear, duly obliged.. big smiles all round, job done!!
then back home for a well earned coffee, a very peasant ride, nice to see some many other bikers all taking advantage as well..
clean the flies from the bike, a polish, then a very nice quick job.. change the front pads, in fact it was a real easy job, 5 minutes! no drama, and now ready for bedding in, think if the weathers on my side next week, I might have to have another 60 mile jolly...

awaiting some attention...

Yep, thats the new toy.. A Buell Firebolt. XB9R. 984cc Harley Davidson motor, in a Erik Buell frame, with fuel in the frame, oil in the swing arm, and a few other quirky bits, like a massive rim bolted front disc, 6 pot calliper, bags of low down grunt, pin sharp handling, and a exhaust note to wake the dead, its all in good fun...
As above that is how I brought it home, after some polishing of the plastics, and the bright work, it looked pretty good, but theres always something that can be done, and so far, the heel plates have been removed, and polished, the bar ends have been replaced, and a few of the bolts have been under the polishing clothes..
The rear hugger has been swapped out for a carbon one, and theres a list of carbon parts on the wish list..
The carbon hugger, with the heel plates just visible.
The Buell has got a rather unhealthy appetite for some of my tools..
So here we go.. hopefully will be updating with whats going on, and how things are going, with the odd picture, and of course the whole thing is done over a rather nice cup of tea!

Evening...
Well what can I say,
Its time for me to move on, and the carp gear has to make way for something else, the river gear is staying, but for me the Carp bug has gone, and really feel this is the right time to quit.
Its been a fantastic journey, caught some lovely fish, meet some great people, and enjoyed the "just being there".
So there it is, a complete 2 rod set up is for sale, I've got a figure in mind, if nothing happens in a few weeks, then it will be split up and sold off...
Thanks to all those who have dropped in, and feed on the baited spots..
Its been a pleasure!

Oh dear oh dear...
May and you've guessed it, the rods are covered in dust, the gears all there, but motivation to go, well thats not...
After some soul searching, I've not joined any clubs this coming season, and instead have turned attention elsewhere at the moment, I do have a few things planned fishing wise, and will look forward to some bank time soon.
Nice to see a few of the old friends are keeping the fish fed, and out there come rain or shine, and fair play to them, but for me, at this moment, I'm resting the swim..!
Tight lines guys!

Many thanks...

As 2013 comes to end, its been an up and down year for me fish wise, but I've enjoyed my bank time, and also met a few new faces on the way,
I'd hoped to have been out a little more, but never mind, the lakes will be there next year, and so will I, from time to time, dropping a boilie or two in a hopeful attempt to catch said scaley beast....
So I do hope you'll keep dropping in from time to time, just to see if I've managed to get those rods out....
Have a great 2014, and Tight lines to you all.

Lets get ready to.....

With a little bit of time on my hands, it gave me the chance to, have a tidy in the tackle shed, Sort out the particle stores, the bait freezer, and have a real good look at what odds and ends there are lying about, that should be either put back into use, or passed on, or binned...
I could not believe how much room I gained with a little sort out, and a bit of tidying.. now the tackle looks all nice and neat, must sort out the tool side of things, good jobs its a big shed!
The Particle bins are still good, and dont need any more topping up for a while, the smell of aniseed is lovely, and always make me think of the joys of spombing!
A few mixes of particle are awaiting a soaking in the coolbox, ready for the freezer, which has been sorted, and lightened out by the odd kilo or two...
The real surprise was with all the pop up tubs that I found, a fair few of the little buggers, flavours, colours, and sizes, not to mention the cost! but some will have another outing I'm sure.
A good look through the gear showed up no surprises, so I'll have to put the catalogs away, and wait for something to need replacing, but you never know..
So all in all, a good deed done well, and renewed the bug to get out and have a dabble on the local as soon as possible!!!
Tight lines Guys, and be lucky!!!

Wow, its been a while...

It certainly has, happy to say all is well, and yes, have managed a bankside trip, albeit for an evening after work, but at least I got there..
Me and the lovely wife had a very enjoyable eveing at my local runs water, and with in 20minutes of setting up a lovely 14lbs common graced the net, which really did put a smile on my face.
other than that its not been very busy on the fishing front, but with the summer coming to an end, this is more my favorite time of year, and I'll be getting set for the autumn/winter and see if I can make one or two slip up....
Tight lines, and all the best!!
