Nickyb's blogger...

Thanks for dropping by, this blogger is about my up's and down's, tear's and laughter that my interests can bring as I go about them in my own fashion..

This Blogger started through my fishing, and I enjoyed many a happy day enjoying everything that comes along with that, but times change, job changes, and wanting to do different things was to see the fishing gear making way for Motorcycles, and that is how you find me...
Hope you enjoy the Blog.

Nick.

All the best

Evening.
after a nice day at work, awaiting me, was a rather large box sitting on the sofa marked fragile...
like a kid at Christmas, I was in, and there inside was four rather nice bits of Carbon fibre all destined for the Buell.
Now I was going to wait, but, Noooo....
Out to the workshop we all went!
All nice and new, and awaiting fitting...

And thats what it looks like on the bike...!!!

Looks pretty good eh??
But it looks much better after a couple of hours with the spanners...
the fit was fairly straight forward, a little fettling to get a couple of bits perfect, but all in all I'm well pleased with the parts, and the quality!
One happy boy...

Sorry the pictures are a little rushed, will get some more up when all done and outside in daylight..

It was just too nice to refuse a ride out this morning.
The bike fired into life, and sat there thumping away while I got ready, no idea where to go, but just thought, why not.
Soon found myself heading out of town, after a quick fuel stop, A30 towards Hook, then out via Odiham to Alton, out on some of the nicest biking roads around, down to West Meon Hut, the café looked very busy, so I took a right, out along heading back Winchester way.
Sitting at one of the roundabouts, a guy in a rather nice Land Rover, asked if I could rev the motor for his kids to hear, duly obliged.. big smiles all round, job done!!
then back home for a well earned coffee, a very peasant ride, nice to see some many other bikers all taking advantage as well..
clean the flies from the bike, a polish, then a very nice quick job.. change the front pads, in fact it was a real easy job, 5 minutes! no drama, and now ready for bedding in, think if the weathers on my side next week, I might have to have another 60 mile jolly...

awaiting some attention...

Yep, thats the new toy.. A Buell Firebolt. XB9R. 984cc Harley Davidson motor, in a Erik Buell frame, with fuel in the frame, oil in the swing arm, and a few other quirky bits, like a massive rim bolted front disc, 6 pot calliper, bags of low down grunt, pin sharp handling, and a exhaust note to wake the dead, its all in good fun...
As above that is how I brought it home, after some polishing of the plastics, and the bright work, it looked pretty good, but theres always something that can be done, and so far, the heel plates have been removed, and polished, the bar ends have been replaced, and a few of the bolts have been under the polishing clothes..
The rear hugger has been swapped out for a carbon one, and theres a list of carbon parts on the wish list..
The carbon hugger, with the heel plates just visible.
The Buell has got a rather unhealthy appetite for some of my tools..
So here we go.. hopefully will be updating with whats going on, and how things are going, with the odd picture, and of course the whole thing is done over a rather nice cup of tea!
