The Indulgence bed is fantastic, expensive, but fantastic, has not put any fish on the bank, and cant make tea, but no back pain, means more focused on the fishing.. I've had another overnighter at the local water, but again, just had bream interest, so a trip to PGB, saw me leaving with a large bag of chocolate orange, ready for the next outing..
As for me, I've some minor surgery, which has put me out of action for a while, but hope to be bank side by mid July for another overnight trip, but might try a day on the river if the Missus will drive me there.. hahaha.
Tight lines everyone!

Nickyb's blogger...
Thanks for dropping by, this blogger is about my up's and down's, tear's and laughter that my interests can bring as I go about them in my own fashion..
This Blogger started through my fishing, and I enjoyed many a happy day enjoying everything that comes along with that, but times change, job changes, and wanting to do different things was to see the fishing gear making way for Motorcycles, and that is how you find me...
Hope you enjoy the Blog.

A weekend off...
Evening.
A bank holiday usually means an extra day fishing. But not for me, I dont fish them! something I've done for years, the reason is rammed banks, and to much racket for some peace and quiet, would rather take the opportunity to earn some more points with the missus, so if your out over the weekend, best of luck, and hope you get one!
Now, I did get out last Friday evening, finished work, and once again was setting up in the swim I wanted by 4pm, a rather lovely evening, and pretty much the lake to myself, result!
After getting the home set up, and yes, I know, I take far to much stuff for a overnighter, but, still better to be comfortable, then at least I can get focused on the fishing, I sat back and relaxed, not for long thou, a call from the wife, had me reeling in, and opening the gate to let her in to deliver dinner!(she is allowed to be on the venue) Gina had driven down to share a few hours on the bank, and enjoy Savaloy and Chips alfresco style!
After saying goodnight, I was back in the swim, setting the traps, and hoping for a fish or two to put in an appearance, the late evening bats where still busy darting about, and the odd visit from a small field mouse looking for some crumbs, was about it for the evening.
The night was soon drawing in, and the odd bleep was all that was happening, around 1am the right hand rod was away, as I picked the rod up, I thought it was going to be something small, and I was right, a small tench had taken the bait, and was determined to carry on fighting right to the net, at which point, it then let go..!
that was it, the rest of the night saw me trying my hardest to ignore the attentions of Mr Bream, and hope a tench or something else would pick up my bait!
The morning was soon awaking me, and the call to get home before the weather turned, so I left fishless, but still happy I'd got out, looking forward to getting back next weekend, and try out that new Nash Indulgence bed!!!

That was great!!!
Wednesday morning, pulled into the works car park, with a car full of gear ready for the after work trip... work went well as always, love this new job!, and was soon pulling into the lake car park, some 400 yards down the road, happy days. although a little surprised to see so many cars in the car park, thats when i found that my intended water, was infact being used as the evenings match venue...Arse!
Now I had a couple of choices, drop on to the runs water, or have a go at the more difficult lake, at first I thought about the better more difficult lake, but after seeing it was a good 3-4 foot down in depth, and had seen a huge amount of anglers over the weekend and early part of the week, and I had really set my heart on that middle lake as my first time trip.. I opted for a bash on the runs water, to see if I could actually get this blanking monkey off my back, and have a little sport at the same time.
I took a while to pick an area to fish, and looking as if the weather was closing in, home for the night was set up, and after winning the battle with the rock hard ground, the rods where soon on the buzzers, all looking rather good. I put one bait to the edge of some lily's, and the other out in front of me halfway, and settled back, watching the wildlife going about their business.
It was not to long before the lily rod was away, and I was soon into my first fish, a lovely long common around 6lbs, soon followed by another from the same spot this time a mirror of about the same weight.
2 fish in about a hour of setting up, I was more than happy with my return.
The next fish did make me laugh, a bream, ahh love 'em! of about 2lbs, had taken my double large Tiger nuts, greedy bugger, so although small, left the same large bucket of slime!
That was really about it for the evening, and as the night rolled in, I settled back on the bedchair, starting to feel the effects of the 4.30am alarm, and the thought of some sleep, but not so, the lily's was the spot, and 3 more fish came my way, all very nice condition, 2 Commons, again, nice and long, and and another spawn bound Mirror, which may have just touched 9lbs, at about 2am.
That was it for me really, I reeled in, and took to the bed, for a couple of hours sleep, before being up, and packing away, and heading back home for about 9am, just beating the rain, bonus!
So all in all, might not have got onto the lake I wanted, but did catch a few fish, lost the monkey, and feel really good about getting the rods out again.
Looking forward to another trip, next week I think, Friday evening with any luck, and I might be able to drop onto the swim I was looking at before coming home this morning!
Sorry no pictures, slight problem with camera, flat battery..D'oh!

Time to get the arse into gear, I've got another month before new memberships are accepted, so I can get everything ready to rock and roll in that time, might even see some sunshine by then as well, a few things to do, and a few things to sell as well I think.. looking forward to the Yateley Angling Centre evening on thursday, might have to add a few little bits into the tackle box, would seem rude not too.
With things on the up, I hope to be updating my rather slow blogger, and get things back on track!
Tight lines guys.

2013, A new year, and a new challenge!!
Happy new year guys, hope 2013 is good to you...
I got the rods out, on a nice bright 1st of the 1st 2013!, and it was lovely to be out fishing, and just enjoying the peace and quiet.
Its been a while, since my last trip, and arriving at the lake, I did wonder if the water was still going to be in the lake banks, or half way across the car park, but pulling in, I could see the water was still within the banks, just.
So a quick look around, and a swim was soon being set up for my day.

A nice bright day, to start my 2013. |
Sitting back in the chair, gave me time to reflect on what had gone on in the last few months, with the change of job, and the starting of a new direction with the new one, and going back to fishing on the weekends, but never mind, I'm sure it'll be fine...!
The rolled by and apart from the odd bleep, the sounds of the birds, and the field mice making the dash across the swim, it was all quiet. no fish, but nice day, and of course, finally got to try out those shimano's!!! hahahaha.
Tight lines, and all the best.

Sorry it's been slow on the Blogger, but things will be for a while, due to having to find a new job, which will mean Mon-Fri no doubt, and being back on the weekend fishing fiasco, really dont fill me with joy at all, but needs must.
On a plus side, all the gear looks fantastic, with rig boards full, all the reading material is out, and I do feel like getting out on these cold mornings and having a go, albeit limited, due to my lakes being frozen over! hahaha.
But never mind, I'm sure things will sort themselves out, and I'll be back working, and then fishing as soon as posiable.
So if I dont drop in before, Happy Christmas, and a prosperous new year to all, tight lines!
